Seasons Change

Wednesday, March 4th, 2009

Spring is approaching. Soon the snow will be just a memory. The cold will fade and the warm temperatures will begin to set in. Everything will come to life. The transition from Winter to Spring is fun to watch. Everything changes outside.

Inside, things must change too. Just as the seasons change so should your home. Clear the clutter and trash out of your home. Give away the clothes you are not going to where. Donate old books to charity. Organize your closet. Get rid of old papers.

Are you done? Good. Now you can really get to the good stuff. Clear the clutter and trash out of your life. Take a look back over the past three months. Take inventory on the people in your life. Take note of who has been a positive influence on your happiest days. Try to recall who has been pulling you down on your saddest days. Divide the people in your circle into two categories.

  1. Those who are helping you in the direction you are trying to go.
  2. Those that are distracting you from the person you want to become.

Slowly remove these people in category two out of your life. It may be difficult. It may hurt. But focus on your happiness. Focus on your goals. Clean your life. Remove the garbage from your life. The season is going to change with or without you. The sun will begin to shine. Change with the season. As the sun begins to thaw out the snow and removes the coldness out of the air. So should you. Remove the coldness out of your heart so you may shine. God Bless.

Anyone can be Average

Wednesday, January 7th, 2009

When you don’t use your wings eventually you forget you can fly. Eventually you believe gravity is a part of life. Buildings and trees appear to be so tall. You begin to walk among the average and take comfort among people who also choose this life. It becomes easier to be an underachiever. Majority rules so if you hang around enough people who are average, you too will belong and people will accept you. Or even better, people who are less than average will look up to you because you have a job or a car.

But today is a new day. Congratulations! God once again has blessed you with hind site in order for you to move forward. Last year was a wonderful year. You did not miss one day. God opened your eyes everyday. This is a very exciting time. You can reflect back, be grateful for your blessings, and prepare for the future. Happy anniversary! You must be very excited! You have so much to contribute! You have a beautiful mind. Don’t be selfish! Use your talents, knowledge, generosity…whatever you have been blessed with and reach out to someone. Spread your wings and realize your potential. See you at the top.

I Don’t go out in the Rain

Monday, January 5th, 2009

Maybe you heard someone say this also. Maybe you feel the same way. Someone said it to me and it caught me by surprise. Life is too short to be picky about which days you are going to enjoy. Have you ever considered how many people would gladly change places with you so that they could ’see’ the rain? How many would jump at the opportunity to go outside under their power and actually feel the rain? If you knew this was the last time you would see the rain would you appreciate it? It might be. According to CIA, 153,000 deaths per day occurred in 2007. I’m sure most of them planned on waking up the next morning whether it rained or not. I’m sure some of them were seemingly in perfect health and died of a stroke. I’m sure some of them were in perfect health and died of a stray bullet or car accident. Tomorrows not promised and you frowning at the rain? When my alarm clock rang this morning, I threw it out the room and laid back down. But I counted my blessings when I finally got up. Some have no reason to wake up. I’m thankful for my clock. I woke up in my own bed in my own place. Some don’t have a job to go to in these days and times. I’m thankful for my job. I walked to the bathroom under my own power. I’m thankful for that. If you open your eyes then you are off to a great start. Celebrate it by watching the fog form on your breath on a cold winter’s morning. Let raindrops hit your tongue during an April shower. Take some time to feel the sun on your skin before you hop back in the cold dry air conditioned building. You are guaranteed to die so why are you so afraid to live. Don’t waste another minute. Spend your life in the world instead of watching it from your window payne. After taking my shower, I got dressed, opened up my door, and it was pouring outside. I stuck my head out the door and let the raindrops hit me a couple of times. It’s going to be a good day.
