You take your Medicine Today?

Wednesday, March 18th, 2009

You take your medicine today?
No, I’m not talking about the pills for your cold or allergies.
I’m talking about the real medicine.
You don’t eat constantly because you hungry. You eat because you are sad.
You don’t get drunk everynight because you like to drink. You get drunk everynight to escape your thoughts.
You don’t abuse yourself because it’s a habit. You abuse yourself because the physical pain draws your mind away from your emotional pain.
You don’t have sex with every person you come across because you are horny, maybe some of you, but others crave the attention they never recieved growing up from their parent(s).
MEDICATION to dull the pain.
Find the cause of your pain in order to heal.
All medication only treats the symptoms, it does not treat the cause.
Find out the cause in order to begin healing yourself.
Many of us are just cruising through life. We do not take time to reflect on our actions.
We do not have the courage to look at ourselves in the mirror as we truly are.
We only see the reflection we are prepared to accept.

Switch your prescription

Stop disguising your hurt and pain as anger/hatred.
Confront or forgive the person(s) who caused you pain so you can get it out of your system.
Find somone you trust to talk too.

Try the library instead of the bar.
Take a walk in the park instead of sitting on the couch.
Surround yourself with positive people so you can start replacing
the bad memories with good ones.

Medication for the Soul.

Seasons Change

Wednesday, March 4th, 2009

Spring is approaching. Soon the snow will be just a memory. The cold will fade and the warm temperatures will begin to set in. Everything will come to life. The transition from Winter to Spring is fun to watch. Everything changes outside.

Inside, things must change too. Just as the seasons change so should your home. Clear the clutter and trash out of your home. Give away the clothes you are not going to where. Donate old books to charity. Organize your closet. Get rid of old papers.

Are you done? Good. Now you can really get to the good stuff. Clear the clutter and trash out of your life. Take a look back over the past three months. Take inventory on the people in your life. Take note of who has been a positive influence on your happiest days. Try to recall who has been pulling you down on your saddest days. Divide the people in your circle into two categories.

  1. Those who are helping you in the direction you are trying to go.
  2. Those that are distracting you from the person you want to become.

Slowly remove these people in category two out of your life. It may be difficult. It may hurt. But focus on your happiness. Focus on your goals. Clean your life. Remove the garbage from your life. The season is going to change with or without you. The sun will begin to shine. Change with the season. As the sun begins to thaw out the snow and removes the coldness out of the air. So should you. Remove the coldness out of your heart so you may shine. God Bless.
